NORDIC WALKING

NORDIC WALKING

29. june 2025 at 9.15 - Tolmin, Slovenia

5,3 km / 11,7 km

60 m / 220 m

Date: 29th June, 2025
Start time: 9.15
Location: Tolmin, Sotočje, main venue of the festival
Discipline: Nordic walking

Nordic walking is one of the safest and healthiest sports activities. Simply put, it’s brisk walking with poles in hand, which means your whole body gets involved. And just like the shepherds once herded sheep and cows here, among the green pastures and the emerald Soča River, you too can set off on a fast-paced walk with poles.

As part of the I Feel Slovenia Soča Outdoor Festival, you can join a 5- or 10-kilometer Nordic walking tour. While we’ll be timing your walk, this is primarily a recreational activity, not a competitive race. That means no official awards ceremony, but all participants will receive the same perks as the runners—an adidas sports T-shirt, a race bib, a warm meal, refreshments along the way, and a medal at the finish line.

  • 5km: The shorter, 5-kilometer route follows the left bank of the Soča River at first, then winds through scenic field paths, touches the edge of Tolmin, and finishes above the banks of another stunning river—the Tolminka. Just before the finish line, you’ll even have the option to wade into the water (if you’re up for it).

  • 10km: Starting from the festival’s main venue, this route takes you along the left bank of the Soča River, through open fields, and under the Kozlov Rob hill, all the way to the breathtaking Tolmin Gorges. The final crossing of the crystal-clear Tolminka can be avoided, but let’s be honest—who would want to miss the chance to cool off right before the finish?
