Two-day adidas Terrex and Intersport hike on the Juliana Trail

The two-day hike along the Juliana Trail at the I feel Slovenia Soča Outdoor Festival is perfect for anyone who wants to experience the Soča Valley at a relaxed walking pace. The route starts in Bovec’s main square and follows the emerald Soča River past the Boka Waterfall to Kobarid. The first day ends with dinner, an overnight stay at Kamp Koren, and an evening gathering around the campfire. On the second day, the hike continues along the sunny side of the Soča Valley, passing through nearby villages on the way to Tolmin. The journey finishes at the Tolmin confluence, where the Soča and Tolminka rivers meet.

Pack your tent, lace up your hiking boots and leave the logistics to us. At the end of the first day, dinner and a campfire will be waiting for you. Your to-do list? Very simple: hike, eat, sleep and repeat the next day.

For two days, the Soča River will be your guide.

Discover the valley on foot, with the river always nearby. Two local guides will accompany the hike, and you can either join them or follow the route using the app at your own pace, taking time along the way for a dip in the Soča River or to capture some photos.

DAY 1 – Saturday, 27 June 2026

Juliana Trail route between Bovec and Kobarid

Registration at the festival venue in Tolmin: 5:30 – 6:00
Bus from the festival venue in Tolmin: 6:00
Start: at 7:00 – Bovec, in front of the Intersport store
Finish: Kobarid, Kamp Koren
Distance: 22 km
Total ascent: 300 m
Time limit: 10 hours

The hike starts at the main square in Bovec, from where the route heads south and soon approaches the emerald Soča River. The trail leads through the Bovec Basin, offering views of impressive peaks such as Kanin, Rombon, the Loška stena cliffs and Svinjak, before continuing past the Boka Waterfall towards Trnovo.

In this section, the Soča reveals its wildest side. This area is well known among white-water enthusiasts from around the world. The trail then continues through the Trnovo and Kobarid gorges, where the Soča Valley narrows into a picturesque gorge. Along this section, the turquoise river remains almost constantly within reach.

Towards Kobarid, the valley gradually widens again and the river’s flow becomes calmer. The day ends at Kamp Koren in Kobarid, where we provide:

– dinner,

– overnight accommodation at the campsite (bring your own tent)

– access to showers and sanitary facilities.

After dinner, there will be a relaxed gathering around the campfire.

DAY 2 – Sunday, 28. june 2026

Trasa Juliana Trail med Kobaridom in Tolminom

Breakfast: from 6:00 onwards
Start: at 8:00 – Kobarid, Kamp Koren
Finish: Tolmin, confluence
Distance: 17.5 km
Total ascent: 140 m
Finish: Tolmin, confluence
Time limit: 6 hours

On the second day, the hike starts at Kamp Koren near Kobarid, from where the route heads towards Tolmin. The entire stage follows the so-called sunny side of the Soča Valley, passing through welcoming villages and the open Soča landscape.

The route follows the left bank of the Soča River through the villages of Ladra, Kamno, Volarje and Gabrje, partly along asphalt roads and partly along forest trails. Between Kamno and the Church of St Lawrence, you will walk along pleasant woodland paths between old, moss-covered stone walls. From the church, there are beautiful views of the Soča Valley and the peaks of Krn and Kobariški Stol.

The route eventually leads to the confluence in Tolmin, where you will complete your two-day adventure and receive a commemorative medal for successfully finishing the hike.

Frequently Asked Questions

Until when can I register?

Registrations for the Soča Outdoor Festival 2027 are open until June 14, 2027, or until the spots for a particular distance or hike are filled.

Registration for the hike will not be possible at the event.

I cannot attend the event (due to injury or other reasons) – what are my options?

If the reason for cancellation is not health-related, the registration fee is non-refundable.

Race registration cancellations are possible in the event of health issues or pregnancy.

I would like to transfer my registration to another hiker. Is this possible?

Transferring the registration to another hiker is possible until 10 June 2027. After this date and until registration closes on 14 June 2027, transfers will be subject to an additional fee of €15.

You can transfer your registration to another hiker in your personal account. The link to your personal account, where you can manage your registration, was included in your registration confirmation email. Once logged in, select the “Transfer to another person” option.

The new hiker will receive an invitation to register. Once they complete the registration (and pay the additional €15 administration fee for transfers made after 10 June), the original hiker’s registration will be cancelled.
