New season, new challenges.
Between June 26 and 28, 2026, the Soča Outdoor Festival returns to Tolmin – to the heart of the valley where wild nature meets sporting passion. Three days of trail runs, good energy, and an unforgettable festival atmosphere are waiting to be experienced again.
Registrations are already open, and the first deadline offers the lowest price and the best opportunity to secure your spot at the start line and accommodation in the valley.
This year brings a few exciting updates: a redesigned Friday vertical route climbing to Tolmin Castle, new race combinations, and a new registration system.

New Vertical: Run to the Castle
The Friday evening vertical run will get a completely new look in 2026. The route will lead from the Coronini Mansion (today’s Tolmin Museum) to the Tolmin castle (Kozlov Rob).
With 200 meters of elevation gain, it will be accessible to a wider range of runners, including those who choose to combine the vertical run with other races.
The run to the castle is not only a physical challenge but also a tribute to local heritage, as it revives the tradition of competitive running to the castle. The route passes through the town forest, and the sunset finish on the castle walls will be further enriched by live music performances.
There will also be updates at the refreshment stations and cheering points, where we’ll put even more emphasis on local cuisine and music – including a few surprises at the castle top and in the Tolmin Gorges.
New Race Combinations
In addition to the established combinations with the Vertical (15km, 25km and 35km), we are introducing two new ones:
- Vertical + 10 km
- Vertical + 50 km
We’ll also announce the fastest female and male runners in these two new combinations.
New Registration System
This season, we’re switching to the new Njuko registration system, which brings several improvements and changes – especially for group registrations. Group discounts (10% and 15%) remain, but the process will be slightly different.
The new process:
- The group leader creates a group – choosing a name and password for access to the group registration (“private zone”).
- Once the group is created, the leader receives a confirmation email with instructions on how to proceed with group registration.
The group leader then has three options – please read the following carefully and decide how you’ll handle registrations and payments within your group:
If you would like to pay the registration fees for all members of your group together, please send us an e-mail to info@soca-outdoor.com with the total number of runners in your group so that we can provide you with a discount code.
The group leader enters the data as the group administrator (each runner then gets access to their own registration – private zone). The leader enters the discount code for each runner individually.
The payment is then made through the registration system by the group leader, who has entered all the runner data.
If each group member wishes to pay their own registration fee, please send us an email with the total number of runners in your group so we can provide you with a discount code.
The group leader then shares a special link (received in the confirmation email) that others can use to join the group and complete their individual registration.
Each runner enters the provided discount code before payment to apply the discount.
If the registration fees are to be paid by a company, please contact us before registering at info@soca-outdoor.com.
Provide the company details (name, address, tax number, contact person) and a list of runners with selected distances (first name + last name + distance).
Instructions for each option will be clearly explained during registration – but we already recommend preparing your list of runners and chosen distances in advance.
